DanceStation News: December Reminders:

Parents - remind your children to wait for you indoors. Just trying to keep everyone safe!

Please try and arrive on time to all dance classes. Arriving more than 10 minutes late to class is very distracting and also dangerous to anyone who misses all or part of class warm ups.

Christmas/Winter Break: No classes Mon. Dec. 20 – Sun. Jan. 2

Weather Policy Reminder: If the schools in O’Fallon District 90 close due to poor weather conditions, dance classes are cancelled as well. If bad weather develops in the afternoon/evening while students are in school, I will leave a message on the machine if classes are cancelled. Please call and check the recording on the machine if you are ever unsure, or check the ticker on the website – www.dancestation.biz.

Mark your calendar! The winter State Street Dance Company concert is Saturday, Jan. 15th at McKendree University. The girls are very proud of their dances, and we would love to see you there. This year we have pieces from 6 different choreographers featuring many different styles of dance. We also have a guest company, Mouvement Dance Theatre, from Edwardsville, performing as well. It is truly a great show and a fun evening! So come and support your fellow DanceStation dancers, and show the younger generation of dancers what they have to look forward to. All proceeds go to the SSDC fund for future choreographers and student scholarship opportunities.

June Recital: Shortly after we return from break I will begin measuring and ordering costumes for this year’s recital on June 5th. Please let me know in January if your child will be unable to attend the recital, so that I don’t order them a costume. Every student will be ordered a costume unless I hear from you otherwise.

Guest Jazz Teacher – Every year I like to bring in a guest jazz teacher for a month to change it up a bit. Usually it has been in November, but due to scheduling conflicts that didn’t work out this year. However, I have found a talented jazz/hip hop teacher for the month of January. Her name is Erin Yanousek, and she has a dance degree from Lindenwood College. So look for a new face in January, and then I’ll be back teaching again in February – just in time to start recital pieces.

Please have a safe and wonderful break! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the teachers and staff at DanceStation!!!!
